KUALA LUMPUR – Former Deputy Bank Negara Governor, Datuk Abdul Murad Khalid, is prepared to cooperate with authorities if required regarding the handling of accounts totaling RM3 billion which he believes involves Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Abdul Murad in a statement today that was obtained by Bernama, confirmed that he made a statutory declaration in 1999 in relation to the handling of those accounts.
In answering questions from presses recently, Abdul Murad said: “I am also prepared to cooperate with the authorities, if required.”
In his revelation approximately 13 years ago, Abdul Murad was reported to have claim that Anwar controlled at least 20 main accounts involving assets, stocks and money which overall was worth over RM3 billion.
Various parties especially those among the non-government organizations (NGOs) was reported to have urged Anwar to give an explanation regarding Abdul Murad’s accusation.
